Dentists and patience

Tuesday, April 6th, 2004 (4 years, 7 months ago)

Going to the dentist is no fun… It totally screws up my entire day because I can’t eat. But I just cooked a huge slab of meat and some potato wedges so everyone who advises me not to eat can go fornicate themselves.

Full of it

Monday, March 22nd, 2004 (4 years, 8 months ago)

People just won’t stop with the McDonald’s hating! Every single day, I read something about them and how much they suck.

The latest news is about how their salad (dressing) has more fat than a cheeseburger. At least the salad will be enough for most people to get rid of their hunger. Who ever heard of someone buying a single cheeseburger from McDonalds?

Seriously, ask someone to tell you how much a single cheeseburger costs. Most people who are getting fat off of fast food have no clue how much a single cheeseburger costs because they’re too busy buying the Big Mac and fries.

I hate to turn this into an all food discussion website, but I-Hate-McDonald’s articles are being publicized a lot more than anything with a shred of political information.

Break bread?

Tuesday, March 16th, 2004 (4 years, 8 months ago)

I don’t understand how so many people can be taking the Atkin’s approach to losing/maintaining weight. Many restaurants and fast food chains are altering their menus to accomodate the low carbers and so are major brand name foods. I go grocery shopping regularly and every other time I go, I notice a new low carb version of a product.

And it’s not supposed to really be a “diet”. It’s a “way of life”— so they would have to restrict their carbohydrates every single day for the rest of their lives. I don’t know how they can do it. Cigarettes are nothing. I’m addicted to pastas, potatoes, breads, and sugars.

I did lose some weight in the past year without being on any sort of plan. The Chris Rhee diet: Find a bedroom that faces the sun and traps heat like a green house. Then put this bedroom right on top of the garage, which also traps heat (until it rises through the floors and into your bedroom). Sweat off so much weight— even your neighbor gets skinny.

But seriously… Good luck to any dieters out there. Especially people on the low carb diets. Anyone who can decline someone saying, “Would you like fries with that?” has some crazy amount of will power.

Without me #2

Friday, January 30th, 2004 (4 years, 9 months ago)

But no matter how many fish, in the sea
It’ll be so empty, Without me.

I didn’t think people still came here to check up and see if I was writing. Links to my site have been stripped from several websites and I hadn’t posted for so long… I thought people would’ve forgotten all about me. There’s a million other ‘blogs to read, so I thought people would be able to keep busy without me.

School, work, and sickness: Want some excuses for why I didn’t post? It’s mainly just lack of motivation. At the end of the day, I just didn’t really feel like writing. But I think that’s all over now— I’m back.

My girlfriend’s friend/roommate (Ashley) is going to write us a question per day (so she says) and wants us to answer. I don’t know if my girlfriend wants me to post her answers, so I won’t until she tells me so. Anyway, here we go with the very first question from Ashley:

What is your favorite beverage and why?

(I’m starting off easily here!!!)

My favorite beverage that I still drink would have to be Sprite. I think most of the dollar bills I spent in my high school year were spent on 20 oz bottles of Sprite. The rest of my money was spent on 12 oz cans of Sprite and 2 liter bottles of Sprite.

When they had their little game where you could win a free bottle of Sprite, I must’ve won well over twenty or more— I forget the exact number. I have a Simpsons poster in my room that I got for free from entering many, many Rocket Cash codes from under Sprite bottle caps.

I just really like the taste of it. And the fact that they had some funny commercials a few years ago was a little bonus.

My favorite beverage that I don’t drink anymore is coffee. I had a major addiction to the stuff a few years ago. But I’ve been fairly clean for a few years now. I still like the smell of coffee beans in the supermarket aisle, or at a coffee shop. I probably sound like an ex-smoker now…

Burnin’ up

Friday, December 26th, 2003 (4 years, 10 months ago)

I keep burning myself because of food. From touching the pan while cooking something in the oven, to spilling gravy on my hand, I’m getting burned on a daily basis. I’m starting to wish I didn’t hate cold food…
