Apparently the new trend for marketing campaigns is to combine words together to create one word. The bad thing is that a lot of commercials that make use of this trend try to make it seem funny and clever… I’m sure you’ve seen some of them. I seriously change the channel when they start to play.

  • Taco Bell has “smunchy” (Soft + Melty + Crunchy)
  • MB Financial Bank has “betsimpsier” (Better + Simpler + Easier)
  • Some new TV show that I forgot the name of has “laundrary” (Laundry + Library)
  • Another thing I forgot has “linner”/”lunner” (Lunch + Dinner)

That’s it, I’m starting my own ad agency. Especially if the slogans and punchlines could have been made up by high school kids ten years ago (and not high school kids as in: 9th grade, 10th grade, 11th grade, 12th grade… I mean high school kids). I can get a whole super army of a marketing team together if that’s the type of stuff companies are looking for. Yodel at me, Corporation CEOs!
