Bad connection

Sunday, January 16th, 2005 (3 years, 10 months ago)

I usually talk to my girlfriend on the phone so our conversations on instant messenger services are far in between. Perhaps we should stick to the phone:

Chris:mmhmm
Annie: baby!!!

Annie: =(

Chris: what?

Chris:i didn’t mean.. MMMMhmm

Chris:i meant mmhmm

In other news, I’ve been working on various websites for the past few days and walking many miles, so my time to post things and talk to people has been cut drastically. But it will all be worth it when I launch this latest website… Well, it will be worth it to me. It will be worth it to you if you like watching real rap battles. If you want to get sent an email when the website launches (in two weeks or so), sign up for the newsletter at: Emcee Battles.

Poor packaging

Wednesday, January 12th, 2005 (3 years, 10 months ago)

It only happens a few times a year, but whenever I get a craving for chilidogs, I’ve always turned to Stagg’s canned chili (normally, I would’ve linked to their website, but after 5 seconds of searching for it, nothing turned up). I guess since the last time I’ve had their chili, they gotten rid of their can packaging and moved towards a box that you can just throw in the microwave or heat in a pot. It looks like those juice boxes kids used to drink in elementary school (I guess it’s possible that kids in elementary school still do drink them, but I don’t have too many friends in elementary school to double-check with).

Not to say that chili in a can is that much better, but something tells me not too many people are going to be crazy about chili in a box. I thought it was pretty weird and so did my girlfriend. It was weird enough for me to switch chili brands for now, anyway.

I should probably just make my own chili, but I have a theory that people who are in the mood for chilidogs are usually in a lazy, I-just-want-to-heat-food-and-eat-it-and-gain-weight mood.

Not quite yet 43 things

Monday, January 10th, 2005 (3 years, 10 months ago)

The latest internet community: 43 Things (my page).

People have known for years that making a list of goals is the best way to acheive them. But most of us never get around to making a list. 43 Things is great for that! Make a list on 43 Things and see what changes happen in your life. Best of all it’s a way of connecting with other enthusiasts interested in everything from watching a space shuttle launch to grow my own vegetables.

It’s really pretty interesting and I hope to complete as many things on my list as I can. As of this post’s publish time, I have 22 things. You can go to my page on 43 Things and read some entries/posts as well– think of them as free, bite-size ‘blog posts. And who turns down free bite-size ‘blog posts? Nobody, that’s who.

Max power!

Sunday, January 9th, 2005 (3 years, 10 months ago)

I just upgraded the back-end of this website (all that crap that makes this website function the way that it does). It has been upgraded with a version that added a whole 0.2 versions worth of upgrades. It’s currently being powered by WordPress 1.2.2– previously just plain ol’ WordPress 1.2.

If anything on the website breaks and completely burns your computer to ashes, please get on a friend or neighbor’s computer and let me know the details. Thanks!

Love-sickness

Monday, January 3rd, 2005 (3 years, 10 months ago)

I’ve been semi-working on a set of novels for… ever since I was born, it seems like. (Note to self: Get it finished quicker, dumbass.) Part of the “series” involves the main character and his on-again off-again relationship with this girl — but don’t worry, there will be enough action to keep all types of readers interested — and one part of this romance deals with the main character not being able to express his love for this girl. (Shut up, it seemed original when I first thought of it many, many, many years ago.)

Anyway, I’ve been compiling notes on different — sometimes very different — things the main character does that shows he loves this girl, even though he can’t bring himself to say it. I believe this incident will go in my notes: Spending New Year’s Eve together and kissing her at midnight because it’s something special that neither of them have done, even though she’s feeling very sick. And he knows that he will be very sick for the next few days.

I spent most of yesterday in bed and in front of the toilet, throwing up every thing that entered my mouth, maybe even including the medicine that my girlfriend bought for me (thanks, again). And smelling the food that my girlfriend bought for me (thanks, again) even though I didn’t dare eat it because I’d probably have to return it to the sea.

Later today, my girlfriend and I will be celebrating our two years of being together. And hopefully, both of us won’t be feeling so sick anymore.
