Start the presses

I’m currently debating whether to get a 12″ Apple PowerBook or the 15″. I get a little boost of confidence when I’m go through reviews of PowerBooks and I see a bunch of, “Cons: None”.
I had placed an order yesterday with Dell, but cancelled it a few hours later. I haven’t had too many problems with them (except for when I had to call them— they’ve out-sourced their call center to India), but it seems like a LOT of people have had problems with them lately. My girlfriend also has had problems with their laptops in the past, although her latest one seems to be working fine. I could be wrong… (I’m sure she’ll let me know if I am.)
This is why people who complain about stuff aren’t so bad. I guess I’m pretty well known for talking crap about people, places, and things— in my five years of writing for the web, I’ve done a good amount of complaining.
But I’d like to think it helps. I’d like to think it helps raise the bar for whatever I’m complaining about. Thanks to technology, people can talk crap at lightning-speed to a large group of people. Maybe this will help weed out shitty companies, services, products, people, music, movies, etc. at a quicker rate.
