Spoiled rotten

Tuesday, May 4th, 2004 (4 years, 6 months ago)

I’m in a rush to beat the expiration date on some foods this week. I basically live by myself and every piece of food I buy, I have to eat (by myself).

Because of this, I don’t like to buy things like loaves of bread because I’ll only get to finish half of it before I have to throw it out (if I stay on a strict diet of bread for breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

This also limits my ability to save money by buying food in bulk. I think my record is four trips to the grocery store in one week.

So to all the people out there living on your own: What do you do? The only solution I can think of right now is to buy a huge freezer and deal with eating lots of frozen/thawed food.

Another idea I had was to get some friends (or random people) together and split food like bread, fresh meat, etc. between each other, but it’d be hard to find someone who likes everything that you like (and vise versa).

So help me think of something. Before I eat some sort of contaminated meat.
