Multi-task bar

Tuesday, March 30th, 2004

The taskbar on my computer is three times the height of the default height and it’s completely full. I have a total of twenty-five windows open right now. That’s not even counting a bunch of the programs that I have minimized to the system tray.

I don’t like to use the back button, so I just keep opening new windows for links and before I know it, I have about fifteen windows open on my screen. I’m really making the most out of my gigabyte of RAM…

Work related note: I’m always trying to design and make functions work easily for newer computer users, but I don’t think that I act anything like them when I browse the web or work. I hope I don’t start over-looking aspects that I find easy, but others might find confusing when working on my next project.

Free psychic phone calls

Sunday, March 28th, 2004

My girlfriend is coming over today, but she wasn’t sure when she could. So I randomly called her a few minutes ago and asked if she was coming (slightly joking because I thought she wasn’t coming for another three hours). She says she’s getting dressed and will be leaving in ten minutes.

I call her back a few minutes later to remind her to bring some things (we’re cooking and someone forgot some stuff a few days ago). And before I could start talking, she already knows why I called and starts/finishes my sentence.

I call witch! Burn her!

Usability whining

Sunday, March 28th, 2004

I stumbled on a website for a design company that boasts an impressive client list and offers services such as usability evaluations, usability testing, design, etc.

Later, I tried to visit their website again by typing their address in my browser. I didn’t include the “www.” in the beginning because I’m lazy and I’ll take any shortcuts I can get. I’m presented with a nice “Site Not Found” page.

Being the super detective that I am, I figured out that their website doesn’t load unless you include the “www.” in the beginning. I found that kind of annoying and a bit weird that a usability consultant company would make their website so… not usable.

What’s my point? My point is give me your money, I just bought a 160Gb hard drive.

Full of it

People just won’t stop with the McDonald’s hating! Every single day, I read something about them and how much they suck.

The latest news is about how their salad (dressing) has more fat than a cheeseburger. At least the salad will be enough for most people to get rid of their hunger. Who ever heard of someone buying a single cheeseburger from McDonalds?

Seriously, ask someone to tell you how much a single cheeseburger costs. Most people who are getting fat off of fast food have no clue how much a single cheeseburger costs because they’re too busy buying the Big Mac and fries.

I hate to turn this into an all food discussion website, but I-Hate-McDonald’s articles are being publicized a lot more than anything with a shred of political information.

Pinch me (The Barenaked Ladie’s song, not the post title)

Wednesday, March 17th, 2004

I didn’t wear green today, so Annie said she’s going to pinch me when she sees me (which won’t be for over a week). I tried to tell her that she can pinch me if she wants to pinch me for the hell of it, but not because I wasn’t wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day. You don’t get rain checks for pinches!

I bet The Incredible Hulk never had to have that conversation with his girlfriend.
