The do not call twist
Friday, June 27th, 2003
If you don’t like getting telemarketing calls, I’d recommend registering your number with the federal Do Not Call list.
I was reading their website though, and I noticed that calls from long-distance companies, airlines, bank and credit unions, business of insurance and telephone surveys are not covered by this law— meaning you will still receive those types of calls. Unfortunately, the bulk of telemarketing calls I receive fall into those categories.
That’s like only banning spam messages that advertise meat loaf ingredients. And I like meat loaf.
